The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute is strongly committed to increasing the number of minority individuals who receive research training and become independent research scientists in heart, lung, blood, and sleep disorders. Recruitment of underrepresented minorities in training programs has been a long-standing policy of the NHLBI.
